2019 Spring Garden Tips & Inspiration

Spring is by far the most exciting time to be out in the garden. As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we see the garden waking up before our eyes and each day you can discover something you didn’t notice yesterday. Spring is the time to establish a garden you can enjoy during Summer.

1. Warm Soil = Vegetables

Once the soil is warm, sow summer vegies such as beans, sweet corn, pumpkins, zucchinis, cucumbers and melons. Plant potatoes and – in warm areas – sweet potatoes.

2. Feed Your Lawn

Feed the lawn to encourage new growth. Dynamic Lifter for lawns will supply organic (chicken manure) pellets that have been boosted with added nutrients.

3. Remove Weeds

Attack those weeds now and follow up with a feed. For your lawn, once the weeds have died, thicken the lawn by over sowing, with an all seasons lawn seed.

4. Start A Herb Patch

Start a new herb patch – now is the season to plant basil and dill!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this annual health campaign is to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

With the sale of each Cordyline Pink Passion, 20 cents is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation…Not only in October, but every month! We are incredibly proud to have fundraised in excess of $30,000 so far and look forward to continuing our support into the future.

Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intends to educate people about the importance of early screening, test and more. This campaign starts on October 1 and ends on October 31 every year. For more information visit www.nbcf.org.au
