For 100 years, according to the Yachting Registry, PICYA has opened the yachting season with a parade of boats large and small.  Opening Day on the Bay will be Sunday, April 23, 2017, with a decorated parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “Cruising the Century” showcasing historic moments of all kinds: Nautical, Technology, Science, Historic Figures and more. This will be a spectacular day to participate in the parade.

Come aboard our committee boat for a beautiful cruise on the Bay!

Join the Officers and Directors of PICYA for the 100th Annual Opening Day Cruise on the Hornblower which provides spectacular views of the parade and of beautiful San Francisco Bay. During our cruise we will enjoy a fabulous sit-down lunch with a no host bar and a front row view of the parade.  You do not have to be a yacht club member to attend.

With input from many of our members the COTY Committee has met and made some changes to the COTY rules for 2017. These updates were approved by the PICYA Board of Directors meeting last night.

Some of the changes include:

1. 2 points will be now awarded to Club Committee Chairs  for attendance at the Leadership or Management Conferences. Previously they were treated as just club members and awarded only 1 point.
2. 5 points will now be awarded for boats participating in the Wheelchair Regatta. This is an increase from 3 points previously awarded.
3. 5 Points for $150 minimum/10 points over $250 for in-kind value (dinners, ships store apparel, wine, prizes for decorated boat contest winners gift bags, etc.) for the Wheelchair Regatta. Previously there was no points awarded for non-monetary donations. Monetary donations are still handled under the PICYA Foundation donations points.

RBOC has been safeguarding your boating interests since 1968 as the nonprofit advocacy organization that works to protect and enhance the interests of the state's recreational boaters before state and local government.  The volunteer board works with our professional lobbyist in Sacramento to monitor threats to boating in California and to advocate for boaters' interests.

South Beach YC invite all member clubs to our SF Giants Opening Day party on Monday April 10th - we are grilling and will have lots of fun. Plus raffling off 2 tix to a future Giants game!

The Wednesday Yachting Luncheons continue a 49-year tradition of relevant topics, friendly fun and good food in a relaxed, informal setting. The buffet lunch service begins at 11:45am. The program begins at 12:30pm sharp. Presentations and Q&A usually wrap up by 1:30pm and guest speakers often linger for personal conversation with our knowledgable audience.

All members of recognized PICYA yacht clubs are welcome at the Wednesday Yachting Luncheon. First-time guests are asked to please visit our Front Desk for a guest card and a smile. We hope you enjoy our luncheon fare, fabulous view and sailor’s hospitality.

The PICYA Board has approved a program to allow vendors to provide classified ads in the Monthly Navigator for a fee. There are annual as well as one time rates. All ads will be reviewed and approved by the Board prior to posting.

Note that most listings will have the ability to click through for further information. Also note the advertisers will change the sequence of listing so we will have a new advertiser at the top of the list each month.
