Meet our Healthway FellowDr Jacinta Francis from Telethon Kids Institute was supported with a Healthway Early Career Fellowship to investigate policy and environmental factors that influence child bullying and mental health. Jacinta describes the Fellowship as the highlight of her career, which has led to research that will improve the lives of children and their families. Healthway funding paved the way for the City to work with WA School Canteen Association to ensure healthy options were front of mind. The City also made room for a 50 metre LiveLighter banner, promoting healthy tips. Find out more. PhD scholarship opportunity extended Edith Cowan University has extended the deadline to apply for a 3-year Industry PhD scholarship to evaluate the impact of the Foodbank WA School Breakfast Program on WA communities. This work will lead to improvements in the support schools provide students affected by poverty and social disadvantage. Applications close on 30 April 2021. Find out more. Words to live byWe were proud to partner with Act Belong Commit on the 'Words to live by' storytelling series launched earlier this week to mark Harmony Week. The series shares the inspiring stories of four individuals from different backgrounds who give life lessons on how to stay mentally healthy, and showcases the importance of belonging in the community. Find out more. Family Fun in NannupThrough our partnership with the Shire of Nannup, families gathered at the Nannup Foreshore earlier this year to enjoy the annual Go for 2&5 Nannup Family Fun Day. The event promotes healthy living, as well as sustainability and connection to nature. This was a perfect fit for the Sip and Crunch rap, and apple slinkys activity to encourage healthy eating habits.
