Barastoc 2019 saw the show horse competitors celebrate the partnership of 50 years with Barastoc. The event had record entries and ran smoothly, Victoria putting together a strong team for the upcoming nationals.
Barastoc hosted a high tea Saturday afternoon with past winners attending, stories were shared and memories relived. The weather offered all conditions, over the weekend but cleared for the twilight class of Large Hunter Hack on Saturday night.
The Barastoc organising committee are so grateful for all the help our volunteers give us every year in running this event. Each and everyone of you go above and beyond what is expected of a volunteer. Your infectious smiles and continued support is appreciated. This year with record entries we could not have run the event without you all. So if you ticked it off, lined it up, carried or moved it, sashed it or measured it we thank you.

BARASTOC HORSE OF THE YEAR HISTORY
THE 2019 GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY OF BARASTOC HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW CELEBRATED A FIFTY YEAR PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA AND ‘BARASTOC’ RIDLEY AGRIPRODUCTS HORSE FEED SUPPLIER. THE NAME BARASTOC CAME FROM ‘BALANCED RATIONS FOR STOCK’.
THE ARCHIVED RESULTS OF 50 YEARS OF BARASTOC SHOW SOME OF THE BEST PERFORMED SHOW HORSES AND SHOW JUMPERS IN AUSTRALIA AND IS TESTIMONY TO THIS ICONIC SHOW.
IN 2009 THE COMPREHENSIVE RUBY ANNIVERSARY BOOKLET WAS PRODUCED AND WITH THANKS TO FRAN CLELAND AN UPDATE OF THE LAST 10 YEARS IS AVAILABLE IN 2019.

SHOW HORSE WINTER CLINICS FOR 2019
Keep your eyes on the calendar for the show horse winter clinics in June, July and August.
SEMINAR DAY WITH SHOW HORSE COUNCIL
Over the winter months we will be running a combined seminar day with Show Horse Council and possibly the Riding Ponies to cover a judges update, measuring and a winter clinic.
MEASURING DAY
The next measuring day will be at the VDC dressage competition, May 19th.
YOUNG AMBASSADOR/RIDER
The committee is looking forward to being involved in the Young Ambassador/Rider program that is scheduled for June.

2019 DRESSAGE VICTORIA COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
The Dressage Victoria Committee is seeking nominations for up to 5 vacant positions.
These positions are for a 2 year term and nominations are sought from members who have relevant skills and experience to fulfil the Vision Statement.
VICTORIAN STATE DRESSAGE SQUAD FUNDRAISER
The Pryde's EasiFeed Victorian Dressage Squad is holding a Circus Fundraiser Party at Albert Park Yachting and Angling Club.
Come and Support the squad and enjoy this fantastic circus cocktail party.
When: Saturday 6th April 2019, 7pm
ONLINE SILENT AUCTION
RAISING FUNDS FOR PSI DRESSAGE AND JUMPING WITH THE STARS
The silent auction will run until lunchtime on Saturday 23 March when winning bidders will be able to collect their goods at DJWTS.

2019 EVENTING DRESSAGE TESTS
Eventing Dressage tests are still under review, but there will be changes so riders and event organisers should keep checking the EA Website for the latest tests.
EVENTING UPDATE FEBRUARY 2019
- The current risk management plan template version is yet to be developed, the Committee is working on it as we speak.
- Events that are NOW eligible to apply in Round 1 of funding applications from the Eventing Trust should do so.
