Charleston Swing
Come out and kick your way through Charleston! Once a separate dance born of the Roaring 20's, these high-energy moves became an integral part of the Lindy Hop dance floor and are frequently danced together in a single song. This is the best way to get your heart-rate up and your feet moving to the fastest tunes available!
PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
Level 2 (7:15pm - 8:15pm)

Lindy Stretch
Join us in an intensive look at the swingout! You will learn new and useful ways to think about your technique, improve your connection, and get exciting results.
PRE-REQUISITES: Level 1A-D; twice through recommended. Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required, just bring your enthusiasm!
Level 3 (7:15pm - 8:15pm)

NAILING It at Charleston
Call and response. Awesome variations. Rhythm changes. Intricate combos. What’s your advanced Charleston missing? In this class, Justin & Cari will go over a variety of techniques and moves which will take your Charleston to the next level. After this class, you’ll be NAILING IT at partnered Charleston.
PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.
Elective (8:15pm - 9:15pm)

Pure Bal Improvisation
Pure Balboa is a sweetheart swing dance that focuses on an incredibly subtle closed connection and intricate footwork. This four-week course builds on the February beginner class by adding more rhythms and connective tissue for new variations that will allow you to add improvisational flair to your dances!
PRE-REQUISITES: Pure Balboa Fundamentals or familiarity with upholds, downholds, paddles, progressives, scoots, and come-arounds.

March 1: Live Music w/ Hot Baked Goods
Live music with Hot Baked Goods! The Hot Baked Goods are a band of young jazz musicians playing hot tunes of the 30s. Most of the band members started as swing dancers, and became so infatuated with this music that they decided to make some themselves! With our own jazz celebrity, Clint Baker, as mentor, they've been playing to the delight of park goers at Mission Dolores Park up in the City every Sunday afternoon. We're excited to have them come down to share their passion for jazz music and dancing with us.
