ACHPER (SA) Secondary Conference

29th ACHPER International Conference

Registration is now open for the 29th ACHPER International Conference. This Conference will be combined with the annual April Conference, and we are excited to be able to present a broader, more diverse and larger event for our local South Australians. This will be a great opportunity to hear from interstate, overseas presenters, as well as showcase our local expertise and passion. The call for papers/presentations submission deadline has been extended to Friday 28 November, 2014. We are delighted that over 100 presentations have been received already from all over the world, and we encourage your involvement. Click here for more information.

ACHPER (SA) is always seeking to hear from new presenters, and we can support your presentation. Please contact the ACHPER (SA) office if interested. We receive outstanding from presenters annually on how sharing their knowledge to their colleagues can inspire their work.

ACHPER National has responded to the Review of the Australian Curriculum Final Report (2014), and strongly advocates for the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education learning area content in to be included in all years of schooling from Foundation to Year 10. Award Recipients

Congratulations to ACHPER (SA) Board Member Craig Johncock for receiving the 2014 ACHPER (SA) President's Award in recognition and celebration of an outstanding ongoing contribution to ACHPER (SA) and the health and physical education profession in South Australia.

Congratulations to long standing ACHPER Member Craig Fosdike who was recently one of the Principals Australia Institute 2014 John Laing Award Honourees acknowledging Craig’s hard work and passion as a Principal and his efforts driving the SACPSSA PD Program most recently through the Student Leadership Program and partnership with ACHPER (SA) on the Primary Conference.

Physical Education Week

In 2014 it was great to have 150 schools and over 35,000 students involved in Physical Education Week embracing this year’s theme of 'Connecting Schools and Communities'. Thank you to all those SA Schools who registered and participated in the 2014 Physical Education Week and embraced the theme. If you haven't registered yet, there is still time and we would love to hear how your school was involved in the week! ACHPER’s night of nights - the IDM Sports Physical Education Week Dinner, was held on Friday, 14 November and attracted 120 guests at the Adelaide Pavilion, which was another highlight and celebrated the week. The Dinner acknowledged the 30th year of Physical Education Week. We would like to congratulate those who won awards on the night - well deserved recognition! Special thanks to our sporting guests (pictured below L-R) Tom Cooper. SA Cricketer, Erin Bell, Australian Netballer, Mitch Harvey, Port Adelaide Football Club and Thanasi Kokkinakis, Tennis star. You are invited to join ACHPER (SA) in this outstanding celebration in November 2015.

ACHPER (SA) T-shirts

ACHPER (SA) has a limited quantity of t-shirts, developed by ACHPER supporter IDM Sports. Each shirt will feature the ACHPER (SA) logo, and the picture* outlines the shirt we will order. 2015 MyGolf for Schools Program

MYGolf is the National Junior Skill Development Program. During 2014 a Stage 1 review was completed and a Stage 2 roll out instigated. During this process the School model has also been evaluated and refreshed.

The MYGolf program mantra is designed to develop the five key skills of the game, being: Roll it (Putting), Chip it (Chipping), Fly it (Pitching), Rip it (Long Shot) and Blast it (Bunker Shot)
