Using Explanted Equipment for Training & EducationWhen explanting a device, check with the clinical specialist from industry about the possibility of keeping the device and creating a device training kit or for hands on training.  When explanting HeartMate 3, you will need the entire pump with the segment of the driveline that connects to the modular cable as well as modular
cable to make it a functional sim trainerFor Berlin Heart explants or pump exchanges, you can use pump with perfusion tubing, driveline tubing, and a 500 ml saline bag to create a closed circuit trainer to be used with an IKUS/ sim mannequin for educational purposes
