Beginners:
8-count Lindy HopCome learn Lindy Hop! You'll build from the basics and explore the Black American roots of this joyful dance. This month focuses on the 8-count rhythm and our progressive classes will have you social dancing and joining our weekly parties in no time.
Fundamentals: Tandem CharlestonWe’ll dive into the fundamentals of partnered Charleston and explore its lively energy and playful connection. We’ll also learn the exciting Tandem Charleston, where partners move in sync in a dynamic, back-to-back formation.
Intermediate: Rhythms in your FeetWe'll dive into the “Stomp Off,” a Lindy Hop rhythm variation often danced on &8. We'll explore 6- and 8-count patterns with different techniques. By the end, you'll be listening and responding with playful, precise footwork.
Audition: Dancing on BeatStepping on the beat is easy... right? But are all the instruments really on it? And aren't we often doing more than just stepping? What does "in the pocket" actually mean? Explore it all with a guy who’s not a drummer, not a tap dancer, but deeply cares how people move to swing.
Adventure: Dancing Outside the Shag BoxLevel up your Collegiate Shag by exploring underused elements and new ideas. We’ll go beyond open and closed, add breaks to spice up rhythms, and stay playful at faster tempos. Join Karen and Nick to enjoy kicking in fun, creative ways!
6/25: Pride Lindy PromIf you have fancy clothes you never get the opportunity to wear, you’re in luck. We will be hosting a Pride-themed Lindy Prom w/ our free photo booth. Dress formally and colorfully if you feel like it 🌈 FIND OUT MORE >
