Becoming a Member

When you sign on as a NACY member you are supporting the continued advocacy for sector priorities and the recognition of the children and youth sector as an essential part of our communities. NACY membership is made of up organizations from across Canada specializing in a range of areas. Through your support, you will be connected to like-minded organizations to work together to move the sector forward.

We encourage you to join today to be a part of a network or organizations that is working as a collective voice for positive change and recognition of sector priorities. ​

In addition to coordinated advocacy, NACY commits to:

• Facilitating participation and collaboration of our members and others in the development of consensus on policies, programs and practices to improve outcomes for children,
• Promoting public awareness and understanding on issues that matter for children and youth, 
• Providing public education regarding children, youth and families,
• Conducting and disseminating research into relevant trends and issues,
• Developing, encouraging and improving opportunities for skill development and knowledge transfer among individuals, organizations and groups in support of children and youth,
• Developing and promoting a public policy agenda in support of children, youth and families.

BGC Canada welcomes the federal government’s historic investment in vulnerable communities, young people, and pandemic relief.

April 19, 2021 – Today’s federal budget is historic. BGC Canada applauds the funding in Budget 2021 that will have a significant impact on young people and their families, including a national child care program for early years and school-aged children, stronger focus on youth employment and mental health, funding for after-school and STEM programs, and an extension of pandemic relief programs.

We are also thrilled to see that the federal government has responded to our sector’s call-to-action by creating a $400 million temporary Community Services Recovery Fund to help charities and nonprofits, including our Clubs, adapt and modernize so we can better support economic recovery in communities across the country. This targeted support will allow community service organizations of all sizes to address challenges caused by COVID-19, prevent the loss of much-needed community-based services, and bridge vital organizations to the other side of the pandemic. A special thanks to our charity partners United Way Centraide Canada, YMCA Canada, YWCA Canada, The National Association of Friendship Centres, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

LiveDifferent is one of NACY's newest members. Their approach towards positive youth development is not to just focus on the outward symptoms that students are facing. Instead of only talking about problems like drinking, drugs, bullying and mental health, we build authentic conversations around key values and strengths that create resilience and not only protect against these risks, but empower students to be agents of change in their school and community.

Impact of COVID-19 on Canadian Youth & Education

The Association for Canadian Studies’ COVID-19 Social Impact Network, in partnership with Experiences Canada and the National Alliance for Children and Youth , is inviting your child between the ages of 12 and 17 to participate in this short online survey (10-12 minutes).

We are asking youth across Canada about their experiences over the 2020-2021 school year as it related to COVID-19 with an overall aim to inform social policy. Your support sharing this survey with the families in your programs is greatly appreciated.
