Economic Development Minister Simon Bridges has launched a new guide for potential investors highlighting opportunities in the Māori economy. “The Māori Economy Investor Guide will help investors understand the Māori economy, culture and people. It offers insights as to how and where potential investors can engage with Māori enterprises, embrace the distinctive global advantages of the Māori economy, and forge strong partnerships for the future.” Produced by KPMG, the Māori Economy Investor Guide was funded by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment as part of their commitment to He kai kei aku ringa – the Crown-Māori Economic Growth Partnership. Myrtle Rust Hui - Taupō The Federation of Maori Authorities and the Maori Research Institute Ltd are hosting a meeting in Taupo for Maori landowners next week in response to the Myrtle Rust outbreak which is sweeping the country. Attendees will get the latest updates from Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), leading scientists and Maori leaders who will discuss how Maori landowners can manage their interests. The meeting is being held at the Taupo Cosmopolitan Club on Monday 26 June at 9am - 5pm and is open for all land owners and interested parties to attend! Registrations are required by emailing admin@foma.org.nz Independent Māori Statutory Board Welcomes ATEED CEO Appointment The Chairman of the Independent Maori Statutory Board (IMSB), David Taipari, has welcomed the appointment of Nick Hill as the incoming chief executive of the Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development agency (ATEED). "Nick Hill's appointment offers renewed scope and opportunity for ATEED to advance and strengthen Māori interests in Tāmaki Makaurau, particularly in innovation, entrepreneurship and internationalisation. David Taipari says all Aucklanders share a common interest in encouraging and fostering a vibrant, flourishing and strong economy where Māori business and cultural interests can contribute significantly toward helping make the region a desirable place to live, work, visit, invest and do business. ATEED’s agenda for Māori must reflect this. CL2IMB - Collaborative Leadership 2 Inspire Māori Business CL2IMB - Collaborative Leadership 2 Inspire Māori Business is the coming together of organisations who provide support and services to Māori businesses, and of Māori business owners. This is a collaboration to accelerate Māori economic development by providing information, connections and access to resources.
