St John's School Euroa Newsletter Term 2 Week 5 St John's is a Child Safe School where all children are respected and are protected from harm. Principal's Message Dear Families, Today we were all very relieved to hear Dan Andrews's announcement about our return to face to face teaching. Direction from the Catholic Education Office is in line with Department of Education guide lines. Please note the following: 25th May - Pupil Free Day to allow teachers to prepare face to face teaching. There will be no student supervision on this day however Their Care will be offering supervised care. Numbers are very limited. Please book online via the link in this newsletter. 26th May - We welcome back students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2. Students will need to bring their laptops and all materials that they have worked on at home. Students must bring their water bottle as bubble taps will not be operational. 9th June - We welcome back students in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6. Students must also bring their laptops and all learning materials from home. Also their water bottles as bubble taps will not be operational. During school hours, parents will not be allowed onsite for any reason. Parents/Care givers are to drop their child at the Anderson or Bury Street entrances. This will become a drop and go zone, with parents. There will be no school assemblies for the foreseeable future due to social distancing restrictions. At the end of the school day, parents must stand by their vehicle and students will be directed to you by a staff member. Parents are reminded that they must not gather in the vicinity of the school to socialise. We must continue social distancing as per the DHHS requirements. Our cleaners Mick and Noreen have been doing a great job at thoroughly cleaning our school and will continue to do so when students return. Staff and students who present to school with flu like symptoms will not be allowed to attend St John's. We must all use our commonsense and be aware of COVID-19 symptoms and work together keep our school doors open. We have been stocking up on hand sanitizer and will be enforcing safe hygiene practices. I would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this time. You have been, and are still, doing an amazing job and the end of the tunnel is coming closer. Kind regards, Libby Hamilton "alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." St John's acknowledges the Taungurung People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, play and live. Calendar of Events

Dear Staff, Students, Parents and Parishioners of St. John’s, I hope and pray that you are all safe and well. This time of remote learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has presented us with many challenges but has also highlighted some positive ‘light bulb’ moments regarding the way we live together and work together. I have been doing a lot of walking lately and it’s been great to see so many families walking or riding, gardening together, washing cars together and just spending time together as family. It is my hope that the easing of restrictions will not only allow us to get back to some sense of normality and routine in our lives, but will also make us realise the central importance of family; of sharing time together, sharing space together and sharing our lives in the knowledge that the gift of family should never be underestimated or taken for granted. It is one of our greatest gifts. Congratulations to the amazing team at St. John’s that have developed the Remote Learning Program. St John's Euroa is blessed with many gifts - great teachers and staff being one of the most important. Congratulations to all the beautiful children who have continued to focus on their learning over recent weeks - you are a credit to your families and the teachers and staff at St. John’s are so proud of all your hard work. And congratulations to all you parents who have shown great support and commitment to the Remote Learning Program. I miss you all more than you know and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
