PRIORITY NOTICE: SYNOD DELEGATE TRAINING

General Synod Delegate Training commences this Sunday, in Hamilton, Victoria, and will continue across Australia and New Zealand LCA/NZ throughout March. Dates and venues can be found on the General Convention webpage or via direct download.This training applies to all lay and pastor delegates, even those with extensive Convention experience. All delegates whose details are registered in LAMP have been advised via email of the training schedule. Please ensure that your delegate has received this information.

Delegates for General Convention were to be elected, with their details entered into LAMP, by 31 January. (Read these step-by-step instructions if you are having trouble entering your delegate's details into LAMP.) Please attend to this URGENTLY if this has not yet been done, as the Delegate Training program commences this Sunday.

BONHOEFFER COMMEMORATIONS

Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) was a German pastor and theologian who had a striking journey and public witness against the Nazi regime. 9 April 2015 is the 70th anniversary of his martyrdom. The Australian Lutheran Institute for Theology and Ethics (ALITE), in cooperation with the faculty of Australian Lutheran College, is hosting this international conference on the theology of Martin Luther to mark the 500th anniversary in 2017 of the Lutheran Reformation. The Luther@500 conference will be held from 28 June to 3 July 2016 at the Catholic Leadership Centre in East Melbourne. It promises to be the main theological conference of its nature in the Southern Hemisphere. It will be of interest to Luther scholars, theologians, clergy, students and laypeople of all denominations. Save the date.
