Martha's Message

Dear Parents,

After a very busy November, we are into the home stretch to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

If you didn’t attend the Spaghetti Dinner, you missed an awesome event! This is a beloved tradition here at BES when all the sixth graders and their parents come together to provide a delicious and entertaining evening for our community. Every year I leave thinking it can never be topped, but then the next year comes and the parents and students make it even better!

I want to extend a special thank you to Laura Sklenicka and Suzannah Holway for their vision in leading the event and their committee of sixth grade parents who worked so hard to make everything happen. Also, a huge thank you to Scott Sklenicka of North Florida Oral and Facial Surgery for the generous donation of underwriting the cost of the food. It looks like we are close to netting $6,000, which will be used toward a new sign for the school as requested by the students.

Our first band concert was held today as our fifth and sixth students were able to show off their musical talent. We are so thankful for Mrs. Glass who does such a beautiful job with the children and brings out the best in them musically.

We celebrate with St. Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, which has installed its new rector, The Reverend Louanne Loch. We welcome her to our school community!

I am always thankful that you have chosen to trust the faculty and staff at BES with the gift of your children. We take our jobs very seriously and strive daily to make a positive difference in their lives.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Fondly,
Martha Milton
