Redkite Systems User Group Meeting 2013

Topics covered at the event were:

John Arnold explained that the Fire Professional Framework (which will be launched in April 2014) works well on the Redkite Tracker / PDS system using the Functions method of recording competence – a method widely used by many fire and rescue services.

The common functions can be obtained from Redkite Systems and these can be mapped to FRS NOS and/or CAP699.

Richard Martin (Redkite Systems) gave an overview of the new systems, modules and functions that have been introduced.

Defects Management Module integrates with the Redkite Equipment Management System (now known as the Redkite Asset Management System) and provides the facility to create a defect management action when an asset ‘fails’ a test or inspection.

The module allows the tracking of an asset /equipment as it progresses through the repair / maintenance process.  Email and SMS Alerts are received by appropriate personnel not only on the creation of a defect report but also when the report has an updated activity.

With external contractor and requisition functions the Defect Module is able to track and report the repair process whilst also monitoring costs and
performance.

This module has received a great deal of interest and is proving to be a valuable addition to the Redkite EMS/AMS.

Computer Based Training Delivery Module provides the facility to deliver computer based training / learning packages via the internet. CBT packages are linked to items of set training activities in Redkite Tracker and, where Redkite Question Master is available, an assessment may also be linked to the end of a CBT package and the outcomes of the assessment recorded.

John Arnold gave a presentation of the Redkite Computer Based Training Delivery Module showing how a CBT package, presentation or document can be linked
to a training course and how the training can then be linked to an assessment held in Redkite Question Master. He explained that after completing the assessment, Redkite Tracker will be updated with the outcomes once it has been completed.

Where Redkite Question Master is not available or not used, Redkite Tracker will be updated to show that the CBT package has been completed without an assessment being undertaken.

The size of your CBT package is not limited but should be considered with regards to the download speed for the end user.

The Redkite CBT module can be made available to users whilst at home for those clients who are hosted or not hosted.

This is another very popular additional module and is proving to be a valuable addition to the Redkite Tracker System.

Skills Export Facility

Developed to enable the defining skills requirements using competence held on Tracker and then exporting the predefined skills for use in other systems. Designed to link to mobilising system such as Gartan by sending pre-determined attributes via .csv reports (reports by exception). Options to use it for other systems – such as performance management reports- are available.

New email / SMS notification

These new functions have been added to the EMS and Course/Event Manager systems at the request of users – with further expansion to PDS in the future.

Tyne and Wear FRS who have now gone "live" with OSQAR² the Redkite integrated one stop quality assurance and risk management system, gave an overview
of the system and this was well received by the group. This is an upgrade to their Redkite QA system which they have been successfully using for over 5 years.

OSQAR² provides a structured approach to ensure quality standards are being realised, maintained and improved across all business areas and processes and helps drive down risk by identifying and then formulating and monitoring actions to reduce or eradicate risks.

The system provides invaluable strategic management information quickly and easily and can be used to improve

- Service Delivery – Operational, Station Inspections
- Mobilising - Call Handling
- Business Continuity
- National and Local Critical Incidents
- Fire Safety - Operational Health Checks
- National Resilience Capabilities – Mass Decontamination, HDIM, USAR.

The Redkite Operational Readiness System combines many of the features found in the Redkite Event Management and Redkite Tracker Systems with a new layer of management controls to empower the event organisers to plan, monitor and report training needs and outcomes to ensure the timely completion of time critical milestones for all stakeholders.

The system has been supplied to Heathrow Airport Ltd specifically to prepare for the opening of Terminal 2 in 2014 and it is expected that up to 169 companies (stakeholders) will use the system to train up to 20000 personnel on numerous training events over a wide range of topics each one lasting between 2 and 4 hours.

Richard Martin demonstrated the changes that have been made to the look and feel of the systems, with screen shots of before and after.

The new look, together with any additional functions and features requested, will be rolled out during the 2nd half of 2014, after Redkite have contacted each customer to discuss the changes.

Glasgow Airport (GAL) (one of four airports in the newly formed Heathrow Airport Holdings Ltd) have purchased Redkite Tracker, Redkite Question Master and Redkite Course Management System to record training and assessments for personnel working in ALL airport departments.

The new products will sit alongside similar products already supplied to GAL Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service. The system meets the latest requirements from EASA.
