Fantastic Funding Opportunities for Barnet VCOs Deadlines fast approaching for three funds dedicated to Barnet VCOs Up to £500 via the Barnet Community Response Fund. Funding: Feminist Review TrustGrants of up to £15,000 are available for projects both in the UK and internationally that support women. Applications will be particularly welcome from non-OECD countries that focus on campaigning and activism in the following areas: Lesbian and transgender rights, Violence against women and girls, Disabled women and girls, Refugee women and girls.Closing date: Friday 30 April Funding: Independent Age Funding: The Hilden Charitable Fund Charities working at a local level in both the UK can apply for grants of around £5,000 for projects that may find it difficult to raise funding from other sources. This will be the first of many informal and informative networking sessions, where we can come together to discuss environmental issues in the Borough, and how we as a sector can make the difference. Sector Spotlight - Heath Hands Heath Hands is the conservation and community charity helping to look after Hampstead Heath and the green spaces of Golders Hill Park and the Heath Extension in Barnet. Giving residents in Barnet the chance to take part in a wide variety of nature-based volunteering and activity programmes. Take part in Heath Hands’ video competition and inspire others to spend time in nature There are two video categories: ‘Being in Nature’, and ‘Love the Heath’. The best videos will be shown as part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Hampstead Heath act which saved the Heath for Londoners, but videos do not need to be about the Heath itself – connecting with nature elsewhere (even from home!) counts as well. There are three age groups: under 13, 13-17 and 18+ and prizes for winning entries (£100) and runners up (£50) in each age group.
