Martha's Message

Dear Parents,

Weeks one and two are under our belts and everyone is finally into a good routine. The Fro-Yo Social was an enjoyable time to meet families in our school community!

We are getting ready for you to return next week for the annual Parent/Faculty Night on Thursday, September 1st. The times for visiting the classrooms and full meeting are staggered, so you can get to multiple classrooms if needed. Be sure to check the News and Event page of our website or scroll down in this e-news for more information.

Parent/Faculty Night is an important evening as you meet with your child’s teachers to hear about the year ahead. They will go over classwork, homework, classroom routines, field trips, class parties, etc. You don’t want to miss this adult only event! You may use BES for childcare by calling the school office and reserving a space.

BES has so many wonderful activities in store for you this year, and we want you to be well informed. One change that is taking place early this fall is moving our traditional BES Sunday to a Wednesday Chapel Service. The commissioning of the teachers and staff will take place at 8:10 a.m. on September 14th instead of Sunday, October 9th.

As you know, Father Reed Freeman has been the Interim Rector of St. Paul’s by-the-Sea for the past few months. His last Sunday with us will be September 25th. Our new Rector, The Reverend Louanne Loch from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Gainesville, will be joining us October 30th, which fell right in between those dates for the October BES Sunday. We look forward to celebrating with Reverend Loch after she gets settled in her new home.

Finally, you have until Sept. 13th to purchase your tickets to Alhambra Dinner Theatre for the production of Sister Act on Tuesday, October 4th. This is a church sponsored event that benefits the BES Scholarship Fund. Please call the church or school office to purchase your tickets now.

Fondly,

Martha Milton

Invest in Your Students and Have Fun by Volunteering at BES This Year!

Beaches Episcopal School has a full calendar of events and programs designed to make our school the best it can be. Our parents and grandparents are so generous with their time and energy - but we always have room for more helping hands. The Parent Support Organization (PSO) is a great way to become involved in your children's school and meet other BES parents. We invite you to get involved during the 2016-2017 school year. Investing in children is always time well spent!

Click here for a detailed list of volunteer opportunities for our parents this coming school year.

Please complete the Invitation to Participate Form for 2016-2017 to indicate the areas in which you would be interested in helping, and then return it to the Development Office.

If you have any questions, please contact our Director of Development, Stacy Nash, at 246-2466 ext. 112 or snash@BeachesEpiscopalSchool.org.

We look forward to another great year at BES!
