Niagara EMS Shines at International Trauma Life Support Competition in Niagara Falls

November 1, 2024

For the first time, the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) conference and trauma skills competition was held in the Niagara region, and Niagara EMS staff rose to the challenge, showcasing their skills and securing top honors. Hosted in Niagara Falls, the skills portion of the event featured paramedic teams from around the world competing in three demanding trauma scenarios that tested their critical thinking, skill, and collaboration.

Niagara EMS is proud to announce that team members Emma Santon, Jon Dyck, and Connor McCulloch achieved first place, demonstrating exceptional proficiency and dedication to life-saving practices. Our second team—composed of Josh Neal, Chris Guay, and Coty Carson—also excelled, securing an impressive third place.

“This victory is a testament to the skill, teamwork, and dedication of Niagara EMS,” said Chief Rick Ferron. “We are proud to represent Niagara EMS at such a prestigious event and look forward to advancing our mission of providing outstanding emergency care.”

Niagara EMS congratulates both teams for their remarkable performances and professionalism in representing our organization and the paramedic profession. We also commend all participants in the ITLS competition for their commitment to advancing trauma care and look forward to continuing our leadership in emergency response.
