FROM THE CEO

The Department of Sport and Recreation have given approval for the first of the SEC refurbishment projects. Before the end of the year the front of the SEC will be repaired and painted together with repairs of the large external glass windows, this also includes repairs to the PA/Judges box. The EWA office is having installed new ceilings, lighting and air conditioning.

We are close to approving the start of major improvements to the stable block, rows A to G this will see new back walls and dividers with solid panelling at the bottom and mesh retained up high. This should be ready for the new season next year. Also under investigation is the installation of large fans in the Indoor arena which together with the now completed repairs to the exhaust fans should see a big improvement to riding comfort indoors during the summer.

EWA is very thankful to DSR for their support in these projects.
EWA, City of Swan and the WWF Australia together with Eventing WA and Eventing Organising committees of the SEC Cross Country Course are working together to protect the Wetlands area at the western end of the SEC grounds. The City of Swan will be removing that section of the Wetlands from the EWA joint lease. WWF and the City of Swan have received grants to fence and rehabilitate this important area of the Swan River flood plain. The conservation of this area will have minimal impact to EWA and our users.
