PICYA Spring Leadership Conference - March 18, 2017 - Martinez Yacht Club

ALL CLUB OFFICIERS (ELECTED AND APPOINTED), BAR MANAGERS, AND MEMBERS INTERESTED IN THE WORLD OF YACHTING SHOULD ATTEND THE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Registration begins at 0800 hours. Conference materials will be provided for all pre-registered participants. A continental breakfast will be served in the morning and lunch will be served at 1200 hours. The cost is $25 per person.

Opening Day on the Bay - April 23, 2017

For 100 years, according to the Yachting Registry, PICYA has opened the yachting season with a parade of boats large and small.  Opening Day on the Bay will be Sunday, April 23, 2017, with a decorated parade. The theme for this year’s parade is “Cruising the Century”. Showcasing historic moments of all kinds: Nautical, Technology, Science, Historic Figures and more. This will be a spectacular day to participate in the parade,

Come aboard our committee boat for a beautiful cruise on the bay!

Join the Officers and Directors of PICYA for the 100th Annual Opening Day Cruise on the Hornblower. She provides spectacular views of the parade and beautiful San Francisco Bay. During our cruise we will enjoy a fabulous served sit-down lunch with a no host bar and a front row view of the parade.  You do not have to be a yacht club member to attend.

• Boarding: 0830 hours returning at 1445 (8:30am-2:45pm)
• Depart: Pier 3, "Hornblower Landing", San Francisco
• (2 piers north of the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero)
•  Limited parking:  available on the pier for $10 (mention PICYA)

The "Opening Day on the Bay" Decorated Boat Parade, hosted by the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association (PICYA), representing over 100 yacht clubs in Northern California celebrates the official beginning of the 2017 boating season on San Francisco Bay.

This year's theme is "Cruising the Century"  The parade will feature over 100  historic workboats, fireboats, tow boats, classic and contemporary craft decorated to the theme. There will be both power and sailboats competing for best decoration honors.

$75 Adults/$40 Children (2-12) before 2/20/17

$85 Adults/$40 Children (2-12) before 4/17/17

2017 Commodore's Ball

On Saturday, January 28th, the PICYA held its Twenty-Fifth Annual Commodore's Ball and Installation of Officers, honoring Commodore Linda Blue and the PICYA 2017 Officers and Directors. It was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaluma. The Master of Cermonies was Staff Commdore Lenora Clark and the Honor Guard was provided by the Petaluma Sea Scouts. A very touching Star Spangled Banner was sung by Commodore Blue's daughter Bella Blue.

RBOC JOINS BOATUS IN URGING BOATERS TO PETITION NEW ADMINISTRATION & CONGRESS TO FIX ETHANOL POLICY

RBOC is supporting the Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) as it asks its more than half-million members – and any recreational boat owner concerned with having a safe fuel supply – to petition the Trump administration and Congress to reform the ethanol mandate, also known as the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). In a communication to members, BoatUS urged boaters to go to Fix the Ethanol Mandate to easily send a communication to their legislator in Congress and President Trump.

2017 PICYA Yachting Yearbook

Thank you for preparing your Yacht Club data submissions for the PICYA Yachting Yearbook!

Please provide a list of your officers, members and fleet in Excel or Word. Please save your file with the NAME of your Club.

Take a moment to review your Club pages in the 2016 edition to see how well you presented your Club compared to other Clubs. Share your value add-ons ie slips, dining options, events. Next include high resolution color photos of your Commodore and Vice Commodore. What is high resolution? At a minimum the file is 100K in size, NOT grabbed from the web.

Please name your photo files by the person ie “Milt Smith SBYC Comm”

All club submissions due by February 20, 2017.

You will receive PDF proofs of your listing. Carefully review, edit and return quickly. Yearbooks will be available by Opening Day 4/23/17.

Wednesday Yachting Luncheons - St. Francis Yacht Club

The Wednesday Yachting Luncheons continue a 49-year tradition of relevant topics, friendly fun and good food in a relaxed, informal setting. The buffet lunch service begins at 11:45am. The program begins at 12:30pm sharp. Presentations and Q&A usually wrap up by 1:30pm and guest speakers often linger for personal conversation with our knowledgable audience.

All members of recognized PICYA yacht clubs are welcome at the Wednesday Yachting Luncheon. First-time guests are asked to please visit our Front Desk for a guest card and a smile. We hope you enjoy our luncheon fare, fabulous view and sailor’s hospitality.
