2019 Aeon Symposium—SAVE THE DATE

We are delighted to announce that the 2019 Aeon Symposium will take place June 2-4 in Boston, MA! Our growing Aeon user community invites you to come enjoy our spring weather, learn about Aeon from your colleagues, and visit our varied institutions. We are planning some great opportunities for all symposium attendees to share their ideas and we are also planning to host breakout sessions and tours all around town to give attendees the chance to visit multiple Aeon-using institutions.

We’ll be posting a call for proposals soon and we hope to see you in Boston in June!

Planning Committee Members:

2019 Aeon Symposium - Early Information on Boston Travel Plans

It’s never too early to start thinking about lodging!  Boston can be very busy in the summer and Cambridge has limited hotel space in general.  We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Veritas in Cambridge.  This is a small boutique hotel with only 31 total rooms.  The hotel is only 5 blocks from Harvard, which makes it a convenient “base” for the Aeon Symposium.  We have 20 rooms in our initial block and have the option of adding more, if they are available.  If you are interested in staying at the Hotel Veritas, we suggest you book now!

Uber and Lyft are prevalent in the Boston area and Boston also has a robust transportation network (the T) which will allow you to explore hotel options in other parts of the city if you prefer.  There are lower rates from the major hotel chains throughout the city during the Symposium timeframe.  Saturday night room rates in Cambridge are very high (over $500 at the Veritas) because of the variety of events going on that weekend.  If you are coming in early, you will probably want to spend at least Saturday night away from the Cambridge area.

The planning committee will be attempting to setup our food events around the meeting locations and not at the hotel, making it easier for you to stay at other hotels.

  • Hotel Veritas http://www.thehotelveritas.com/
  • Rooms available Sunday June 2, Monday June 3, and Tuesday June 4
  • Our room block rate is $330.55 per night
  • Block name is: Aeon

Call or email the hotel directly to make your reservation 888-520-1050 or concierge@thehotelveritas.com.

We hope to see you there!

You Have Questions. We Have Answers.

Q: How will Aeon help us gather better, more meaningful statistics on our collections and users?

A: The short answer is Aeon is a big database, which means you can find out everything you want to know about your users and how they are using your collections.
