Tropical Fruit Direct - Weekly Update No.9 No images? Click here Weekly UpdateIssue 9: 5 March, 2021Dear Partners Welcome to the latest weekly update from Tropical Fruit Direct. I reflected in last week's update that the outlook for production in North Queensland across a range of categories had started to improve. Three days later and the precursor of what would become Tropical Cyclone Niran cause significant damage to growing regions, particularly around Innisfail and the northern Atherton Tablelands. Whilst some growers have reported significant losses, particularly in bananas, other farms in the same area have not been impacted. In other words, damage has not been widespread, but concentrated in specific areas. Other areas, such as the Tully valley, do not appear to have been impacted at all. It is perhaps to early to assess what the impact is on production going forward, but as we get more information, we will keep you updated. As always, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional information. Best wishes, Steve TROPICAL CATEGORIESSEASONAL LINES |
