Welcome Back

January 2021

Dear Members,

I hope this message finds you well and rested after a lovely break. Whilst Victoria still faces some challenges with border closures due to COVID-19, I do hope those of you who were away have made it safely back and are looking forward to enjoying the upcoming competitions.

This past week saw our community participate in a great weekend of EV events, with Werribee Park hosting the Equestrian Victoria Summer Show, Eventing Squads and Youth Dressage Protocol Day, and Boneo Park hosting the Mitavite 2021 Victorian Dressage Amateur Owner Rider Championships. 

The EV Board is looking forward to a great year of equestrian sport and met last night to discuss the upcoming EA AGM and the constitutional amendment that has been put forward seeking provision for a full vote for the Equestrian Northern Territory branch. 

As a Board, our intention is to vote in favour of the motion. At the time of our meeting, it was our understanding that the results of the EV individual member vote would not be available to us to inform our decision on how the EV branch should vote, we therefore write to you to advise you of our decision along with our reasoning: 

• as a Board and community, we want to be inclusive of all members, in all locations and had supported ENT in prior discussions during 2019; 
• the amendment has no impact on the day-to-day operations of how we deliver the sport and support our Victorian members; and 
• by voting in favour it will be the individual members of our equestrian community who will determine the outcome of the amendment. 

I encourage you to review the documents provided in the Notice of Meeting by EA and to participate in the EA AGM.
