  • Ohio Physician Wellness Coalition Continuing Medical Education (CME) Webinars: A series of six videos focused on addressing physician burnout. Each video is approved for CME credit.
     
  • Headspace: An app that teaches you how to meditate. Headspace is offering free access to Headspace Plus for all US. healthcare professionals working in public health settings during the crisis.
     
  • Ten Percent Happier: Another mindfulness and mediation app. The site also has a free sanity guide and is offering free access to the app for healthcare professionals.
     
  • The Awake Network: Free Online meditation resources for times of social distancing/COVID-19.
 

Resources and Reminders from AAFP

Attend AAFP Weekly Town Halls for up-to-date information and 1 prescribed CME credit on Wednesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. MST - Hosted by AAFP President Dr. Gary LeRoy and facilitated by Senior Vice President of Health of the Public and Science (HOPS) Dr. Julie Wood, these meetings will focus on a specific area each week and then open the event for any COVID-19 related questions. COVID-19: Financial Relief for Family Physicians - On March 27, the President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The law allocates $2 trillion for financial relief to small businesses, to support health care workers, to get medical supplies to the front lines, to fund research for treatments and vaccines, and to stimulate the U.S. economy. Learn more about how your practice can benefit from this package here

 

Membership Cancellation Date and CME Reporting Changes - The AAFP Board of Directors has approved changes to the CME reporting/ requirements and dues cancellation date. Any members who have not yet paid 2020 dues will now have until July 14 to submit payment. Changes to the CME reporting and re-election cycles is also outlined. Learn more.

Take AAFP's Weekly Survey

AAFP National Research Network is committed to understanding how physicians and their practices are being affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In collaboration with the Larry A. Green Center and the Robert Graham Center, the AAFP National Research Network is disseminating a weekly survey to physicians to gather important information from physicians as they continue to care for patients, families and communities during these difficult times.

AAFP Launches Weekly CME Series - The AAFP has launched a new weekly CME series taking place every Friday from 6 - 7 p.m. MST. Former AAFP Vaccine Science Fellow and CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer Nina Ahmad, MD, will be joined by special guests to cover clinical topics and perspectives for COVID-19. Viewers can ask questions live and earn 1 CME credit for participating. Learn more.

Salt Lake County Medical Reserve Corps Recruiting Volunteers

Family Docs that want to consider volunteering during the pending COVID surge can quickly be approved to work with the Salt Lake County Medical Reserve Corps. There is a short training and you share your license and other credentials and then can volunteer as much time as you have.
