Religious Education Week 8 Prayer Advent – Week One Sunday 29th November. During the first week of Advent, we watch and pray, awaiting the Lord’s coming. As we enter the Church’s new year, cycle B, the season of Advent reminds us that we can look forward to and prepare for the coming of Christ as Christmas. It is a season of so many things: of expectation, reflection, hope and trust. 1 Corinthians 1:3-9 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ send you grace and peace. The first candle of Advent – the hope candle. We begin this season of Advent as people of hope, ready to do God’s will, we ask God to grant us peace and joy as we await the coming of his Son. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
