ACTING FOR CAMERA - Applications Now Open for Term 2, 2015.
8 Week Program I Thursdays I 6:30pm - 9:30pm I Commencing 21st of May, 2015
The art of Acting for Camera is considered the very heartbeat of our company as we continue to train and launch actors into the television industry both here and overseas. We are proud to say we have pioneered training in this field since we opened our doors nearly 18 years ago.
Still our most popular program, the Thursday Night Open Program continues to evolve with the addition of two new trainers: Josef Brown, who currently stars as Matt Turner on long running drama Neighbours, and Logie Award winning actor
Paul O'Brien (Home & Away), together with original trainer Craig McMahon (CEO & Founder of McMahon Management and Film & Teleivison Studio International). This program is open to actors of all levels, and mimics the environment of a fast turnaround television set, working quickly but effectively with the use of current audition scripts.
In weeks 1-4, Paul O'Brien will be taking actors through their paces, using current audition scripts to train them in the workings of acting for camera in fast turn-around television. In weeks 5 & 6, Josef Brown will be working with actors on the realities of a television set and cold reading skills, as well as the expectations of an actor on set. Actors will then choose a scene they have been developing from weeks 1-6, and will work on this scene with Craig McMahon in week 7. Week 8 will be a chance for these actors to showcase what they have learnt throughout the program, performing for (and receiving feedback from) Craig McMahon.
