We give thanks to God for you and for the wonderful generosity from Lutherans in Australia towards the land purchase in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
To date donations from Australians have amounted to more than AUD $265 480. These, together with gifts from Lutheran churches in Singapore and Germany of more than USD $168 450, have made it possible for the land purchase to proceed. The final settlement payment has been made and we now await information regarding costs for the transfer and title registration, in addition to the legal costs, which have already been incurred in the process of purchasing the land.
We are reminded of the words from the writer to the Hebrews, ‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith ...” 12 Heb 1:3.
As we think of all the people in the LCA who have contributed and the amazing generosity of the LLL we have a glimpse of this cloud of witnesses and remember the pastors and laypeople in Cambodia who are blessed by this.
Thank you.
Praise be to God!
