Martha's Message

Dear Parents,

Thank you for a delightful year. It has been a joy to work with you, your children, and observe first-hand the exponential growth that takes place in them between August and May. Every year, I am amazed at the young ladies and gentlemen graduating from our school. They are more than ready to launch, which means we have done our jobs in preparing them for their future.

Thank you, too, for a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week. I truly believe that what makes this school so special for the children is our fantastic faculty and staff. They go above and beyond to make sure that every child is valued, supported, and achieves success according to their potential. A great teacher ignites the spirit within the children, which sets the stage for learning.

There are some exciting activities coming up this month, so I want to encourage you to read each week's e-news and watch for special communication from the teachers. The month of May will fly by, and we don’t want you to miss anything.

If you are out at The Players Donna 5K Run this Saturday, come by the BES table to say hello. We will have a fun photo op available for you and your family.

Fondly,

Martha Milton
Head of School

Boosterthon Fun Run a Tremendous Success as Students Exceed Goal

Congratulations to the entire BES community for helping us reach and exceed our goal for the Boosterthon Fun Run. The event last Friday was a wonderful day of enthusiasm, perseverance, and joy as students ran energetically around the track over 30 times. Thank you to all our families who participated, as well as our sponsors and the Boosterthon team. We raised a staggering $17,500, which will be used for teacher wish lists and the beautification of the McCormick Hall courtyard.

Athletics Update: Soccer Season Winding Down, Athletic Banquet on May 15th

Last week, our soccer team was victorious against St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School. Our team came back from a 0-2 deficit to win. Tuesday, we played JCDS. We played hard and played together as a team! Best of luck to our Club players on their tryouts. I am grateful for all our players’ hard work and dedication.

Our final regular season soccer game is Tuesday, May 8th against San Jose Episcopal, and we know many of our parents will come out to cheer them on! Our final tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 11th, times TBD.

The BES Athletic Banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15th at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall, so make plans now to attend.

Go Rays!
