Redlands celebrates reconciliationCelebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in our community during National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June 2016). Visit Cleveland Library to see Our Island, Our Story, Our Art – Quandamooka artists from the Redland Art Gallery Collection. On show from 20 May to 10 July, and presented by Redland Art Gallery and Redland Libraries, this exhibition features works from 15 Quandamooka artists from the past 35 years (1981 – 2016). For some relaxing fun, be sure to visit the Indigenous-themed colouring corner for adults on 28 May from 1-2pm at Cleveland Library. This year’s Indigi Day Out is not to be missed! Nationally-acclaimed Indigenous band Coloured Stones is headlining the entertainment on Saturday 4 June and the family fun day will also feature a number of activities promoting Quandamooka Country. Visit Reconciliation Australia to learn more about National Reconciliation Week. |
