Dear Subscriber,

With a month to go until Seafarers UK's Fly the Red Ensign campaign, we already have over 200 councils participating on Merchant Navy Day, 3rd September! More about the campaign and how to take part here

This year we have already given out more than £1.8m in funding for organisations and projects supporting seafarers. For a full list of grants awarded in 2017, visit our website. We are also now half way through our Centenary Year, but you can still get involved in our 100th birthday celebrations by attending our special Centenary dinner in Glasgow or the Royal Marines Band concert at Cadogan Hall London.

Lastly we are proud to highlight two important surveys that Seafarers UK is supporting - one to better understand the needs of the UK's fishing communities, the other for Merchant Navy Vetarans of which our Director General Cmdr Barry Bryant said, 'We are delighted we have been given the resources to research and support this community of unsung and forgotten heroes.’

Best wishes,
