A Pandemic Thanksgiving—Are You Serious! PASTOR'S BLOG Somewhere in the Bible, it is commanded, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Does that include the pandemic that pins this planet and nation down
this Thanksgiving? As far as I can tell, the command does not indicate an exclusion clause. Though let's be quick to recognize this is not a command to “give thanks for all circumstances”—it is a command to “give thanks in all circumstances.” After all, how could we possibly thank God for the disease that has taken away our loved ones (55.7 million deaths globally—248,707 deaths across this nation as of three hours ago)? No, the command is specific—“give thanks in [not for] all circumstances.” After all, how could we possibly thank God for the disease that has stripped away our personal economic security? Read More

Volunteer Engagement
Committee Report The Volunteer Engagement Committee Report – First Reading (formerly known as the Nominating Committee) was recently completed under the most trying circumstances imaginable. The committee members are to be commended for their diligence and hard work! With this in mind, I seek your patience and good will if you find errors and omissions in this report. Please contact me for corrections and additions as you discover them. Finally, please affirm the many volunteers whose names you find in this report. Their acceptance of volunteer responsibilities at Pioneer during this pandemic demonstrates their dedication to our mission and ministry. The Volunteer Engagement Committee is grateful for them and for the many other volunteers who will rejoin a service ministry when this pandemic eases. —David Nowack, Volunteer Committee Co-chair

Family, Fun, & Faith BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE FAMILY LIFE COMMITTEE In just over a week Thanksgiving will be here again, except this will be a Thanksgiving celebration like never before. Past years have seen us in large groups with family and friends, talking, laughing,
hugging, eating, and having a good time. A year ago the words “coronavirus” or “COVID” was not even part of our vocabulary, and face masks were something only occasionally seen and generally worn by someone from Asia. What a difference a year makes! —Judy Nay Read

Pathfinder Thanksgiving Baskets The annual Thanksgiving food drive, sponsored by the Pioneer Evergreen Pathfinder club, is underway. If you know of a family in the area who needs food for Thanksgiving, you may call Pioneer at 269-471-6565. Please provide their full name and complete home address when you call. Due to the
current pandemic situation, we are not doing the traditional canned good collection in church, but you may still make a monetary donation. If you wish to donate, mark/indicate your donation as "Thanksgiving Basket".
Pioneer Veterans We are so grateful for our Veterans service to God and Country. With that in mind, we wish to update our Veteran's prayer list and ask our congregation to send us the names of spouses, sons, and daughters who are serving or who have served. We also ask you now to bow in prayer for God's presence with and protection of our Service people. —James North, Jr., Pioneer Veterans Coordinator

Giving Online Thank you for giving purposefully, faithfully, and joyfully! If you have been giving on Adventist Giving Online, please help us by creating and then signing in to your account each time you give. It helps us better when you sign to give in rather than when you give as a guest. We appreciate your gifts and thank you for your faithfulness.
COVID-19 ResourcesSelf-isolating because of COVID-19? We are here to help! We have a team of volunteers who can help pick up things for you like groceries or medicine, and they can even call you to pray with you. Let us know how we can help!
