Dear Resident or Family Member,

RE: Updated Visitor Restrictions - Calvary Haydon Retirement Community

Effective immediately, ACT Health has updated the advice for residential aged care sites, with the growing lists of COVID-19 exposure sites in NSW. QLD and Victoria also have listed exposure locations. This impacts visiting arrangements in place at Calvary Haydon Retirement Community.

A new Stay-At-Home requirement has been introduced for anyone who has left Metropolitan Sydney after 4pm Friday 25th June. The Stay-At-Home requirement for anyone who left the Sydney LGAs of Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, City of Sydney, Waverley, Woollahra after 4pm 23 June stays in effect.

The following locations are geographical areas of risk (note the following are LGAs, not single suburbs):

  • Sydney Local Government Areas (LGAs) on or after 11 June 2021:

    • Randwick LGA

    • Canada Bay LGA

    • Inner West LGA

    • Bayside LGA (excluding transit through Sydney Airport)

    • City of Sydney LGA

    • Waverley LGA

    • Woollahra LGA

  • Greater Metropolitan Melbourne

What does this mean for residents and families?

  • Anyone who has been to a close or casual contact exposure location (or equivalent) in NSW, ACT, Victoria or QLD should not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after being in this location.
  • Anyone who has been in a geographical area of risk should not visit or work in Calvary Haydon for 14 days after leaving the affected area.
  • Anyone who has been to the following regions in the last 14 days should wear a mask while visiting.

    • Greater Sydney

    • Central Coast

    • Blue Mountains

    • Wollongong

    • Shellharbour

  • Visitors who are under a stay at home requirements must not attend unless it is for an approved essential purpose ( please speak with the manager)
  • Resident outings will be permitted, subject to Facility Manager approval. Due to the heightened risk, resident attendance at a function where there is any person who has visited any of the above areas of heightened risk will not be allowed.
  • All other restrictions on visitation will remain in place.

We appreciate your understanding that these restrictions are in place for the protection of residents, their loved ones, our staff and the broader community. If you are unable to visit at this time, we encourage you to contact the facility to arrange a WebEx video call with your loved one.

We will continue to monitor ACT Health advice and keep you informed of any developments. For the latest information on COVID-19 case locations, please visit the ACT Government website.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the Calvary Haydon Manager should you have any questions or would like to discuss the individual care needs of your loved one.

Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation in this challenging time. By following the rules, you are helping us to keep everyone safe.

Sincerely,

Martin Bowles | National CEO
