Your ongoing support means the world to siblings Charlie and Ellie. The young children were both diagnosed with a potentially fatal immune deficiency, and underwent bone marrow transplants before the age of two years old. Thanks to you, Fight Cancer Foundation was able to provide Charlie, Ellie and their parents Tony and Merryn a home away from home for 15 long months while they received treatment. Children like Charlie and Ellie need your support. This tax time I urge you to make a much-needed tax-deductible donation before 30 June to help families like Charlie and Ellie’s. You can read more about Charlie and Ellie’s incredible story below. Kind regards Charlie and Ellie's Story Charlie was 14 months old when he was diagnosed with a rare and potentially fatal immune deficiency. After nine long months of invasive and challenging treatment Tony and Merryn thought they could get back to ‘normal.’ Then they were given the devastating news that Charlie’s unborn sister Ellie had the same condition. Between them, Charlie and Ellie spent 161 days in hospital isolation. The family spent 15 long months 240km away from their home. That’s where Fight Cancer Foundation was able to help, by offering this young family a home away from home when they needed it most. 2017 Impact: Youth and Education We are proud to announce that in 2017 more than 1000 children and young people took part in Fight Cancer Foundation’s education support programs across Australia. Young learners with cancer are absent from school for long periods during treatment and recovery, often becoming isolated from their school and friends. Our specially designed education programs aim to keep children and young people living with cancer engaged with their education and connected to their school friends while receiving life-saving treatment. Our education programs would not be possible without your support – thank you for making a difference in the fight against cancer. Face of Hope: Elizabeth Kaganov Elizabeth has been volunteering with Fight Cancer Foundation since early 2016. Assisting the processing team with various administration tasks, Elizabeth helps out during each university break, providing much needed support during busy times of the year. Elizabeth feels strongly about contributing to the community. She explains “by volunteering with Fight Cancer Foundation, I have felt motivated and empowered to help make a difference in the community and change in patient’s lives.” Fight Cancer Foundation relies on your support to help people living with cancer and their families.
