Interviewing Skills for Emergency Relief

Providing methods in effectively eliciting information during the interview process and dealing with difficult situations in Emergency Relief situations. The training will cover:

• methods of communication
• preparing for the interview
• rapport and trust building
• understanding body language
• effective question formulation
• assessing and avoiding potential conflict or difficult situations
• applying methods to calm angry people and minimise personal risk.

Child Safe Environments

Refresher - 14 July

Recommended every three years, the refresher covers the topics in the intial Child Safe Environments training plus any changes to mandatory reporting responsibilities.

Initial - 24 July

This 7-hour initial course is designed to protect young people from all forms of abuse. It assists participants to understand the issues, their obligations and correct response if abuse is suspected.

Advanced Counselling

A 6-week course providing opportunities for self-reflection, personal growth, and awareness on a range of issues which may be applied to our own lives as well as offered to support others.
