ENDURANCE RIDERS LONG-LISTED FOR WEG 2018

Equestrian Australia (EA) is pleased to announce its long list of Endurance riders for the FEI World Equestrian Games to be held in Tryon this September. 

We congratulate all riders on their selection and wish them the best of luck with their preparations over the coming months.

2017 EQUESTRIAN AUSTRALIA EVENTING HIGH PERFORMANCE FORUM 

Australia’s elite Eventing riders and coaches gathered for their annual High Performance Forum at Coogee in Sydney at the end of December. Some of the nation’s biggest names including Rio Olympics bronze medallists Shane Rose and Stuart Tinney along with rising stars such as Hazel Shannon, Emma Bishop and Shenae Lowings spent two days sharing insights and ideas and heard from some of Australian sport’s most respected leaders and mentors.

VALE WYATT 'BUNTY' THOMPSON

From a very young age Wyatt ‘Bunty’ Thompson was considered a great all-round horseman.

In remembering Bunty Thompson who died on December 15, 2017, at the age of 92, Equestrian Australia Chair Judy Fasher said; “Bunty Thompson was a true trailblazer for Eventing in Australia.  His gentle humour and kindness pervaded our first Australian Eventing team.  [...] Goodbye, Bunty we loved your company and your stories of the enormous effort Australia made to put our sport on the International Eventing Scene.”

WAY TO WEG - Interview with the Rio Eventing Team
