IMAGINE

Eastview's Holiday Assistance Ministry - Everything you need to know!

It's that time of year already - Imagine, our holiday assistance to families in need of new coats, toys and food boxes, is in full swing!

Imagine has 4 phases.  The following articles explain each and tell you how you can get involved in serving our community!

Imagine Phase 1 ~ Registration ~ COMPLETE

Phase I ~ Registration. September 30-October 3, we registered over 650 families in need. This year, we partnered with 4 area churches and registered folks in those churches. God led us to shine the light on churches in the areas closer to where people who come to Imagine live.  The bottom line, we simply want to help connect people to Jesus. If it's easier for families to worship closer to home, then we hoped to help them connect by inviting them to the church where they registered.  Our sister churches:
• Calvary Baptist Church
• Jesus House Church
• Mt. Moriah Church
• Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church

Imagine Phase 2 ~ Displaying, Praying & Shopping

PRAYER TEAM: When people registered, they gave us their prayer requests.  We need people to pray for them!  There are no meetings for this team - you pray from home.  When you sign up, we will email you a list of prayer requests and you will pray for them between now and December 7th (when guests come to pick up their gifts). Please click here to volunteer.  (Need help getting started on the volunteer website?  Click here)

DISPLAY TEAM:  October 14-17th, we need people to help hang all the tags of individual coat and toy requests.  Day and evening hours available.  Please click here to volunteer. (Need help getting started on the volunteer website?  Click here)

Beginning October 20th, you'll be able to pick up empty food boxes as well as select coat and toy request tags from the displays in the hallways.

Imagine Phase 3 ~ Collection Sundays

Please bring all your donations to the church on the dates listed below.  We need volunteers to help us collect, sort and store everything!  Click here to volunteer. (Need help getting started on the volunteer website?  Click here.)

Please do not return the tags you took from the Christmas tree displays that have the name and request.  Keep them and continue to pray for the individuals.  We combine all our donated coats and allow guests to select which coat fits best in their size. We also combine all our donated toys, so please keep the tags and continue to pray!

November 10 ~ Coat Collection in the Lower Well:  Only new coats accepted. Please take coats off hangers.  If you'd like to donate hangers, you can bring those separately.

November 17 ~ Toy Collection in the Lower Well:  Only new toys accepted.  Please take price tags off toys.

November 24 ~ Food Collection in the parking lot:  Semi-trailers will be in the parking lot.  You can drive up and drop off.  Trucks will be in the NCHS parking lot as well.

Feel free to take the Imagine grocery list found in the food boxes and shop anywhere with your family.  Another option: Kroger on College Avenue will be partnering with us on the food boxes this year.  They will have boxes pre-packed with the Imagine grocery list. One-stop shopping!  If carrying the box is too much for you, Kroger can arrange to have it shipped to Eastview.

December 1 ~ Extra Collection Day:  Last day to turn in coats, toys and food boxes.

Imagine Phase 4 ~ Distribution Day ~ December 7

Starting October 13th, sign up to volunteer!  All those who registered-as well as walk ins-come to pick up their gifts. We greet them, share the love of Christ, pray and invite them to either know Christ or walk more deeply with HIm.  It's also our time to learn from those we are serving.
