Introducing VIDA: Enhancing Physical and Social Energy in San Antonio

Situated at the doorstep of Texas A&M University-San Antonio, this new 600-acre master planned community will offer a dynamic combination of housing, entertainment, and recreation to San Antonio. VIDA, meaning life, will bring a spirit of learning, growing, and thriving to all who visit, work or call it home.

On November 7th, 2019, Southstar Communities gained unanimous approval by San Antonio City Council to buy and develop the land from the Verano Group, literally bringing VIDA to life. The achievement is a significant milestone for San Antonio and for Texas A&M University-San Antonio, as plans for development in the area have been in the works for over a decade.

Opt Outside with RVi (+ Win Cool Stuff!)

In 2015, outdoor goods retailer REI made history by closing its doors on the biggest shopping day of the year and paying its employees to “Opt Outside” – spending time with family, friends, and the community outdoors in nature. This single business decision spurred a movement that has gained momentum year after year, with millions of participants and hundreds of businesses and organizations banding together to support the initiative.

This Black Friday, RVi is excited to join the Opt Outside movement in our own way by helping to promote a day spent outdoors instead of in line. But we need your help!

We invite you to join us by planning an outdoor adventure of your own this Black Friday, November 29th. It could be as simple as getting out for a walk in your neighborhood, playing in your yard or local park, participating in one of 100+ nationwide cleanup projects, or checking out a state or national park.

For participating, you’ll be entered for a chance to win our super cool “Open the Outdoors” starter kit.

To play, follow these 3 simple steps: 

1. Capture your outdoor adventure in a photo or video
2. Post your photo/video on Instagram or upload to your Instagram story
3. Tag @RViPlanning AND use the hashtag #OptOutsideWithRVi

We’ll be following your adventures all day long (in between our own outdoor activities, of course!). Each person who makes a post will be entered for a chance to win our “Open the Outdoors” starter kit, which includes an RTIC Soft Pack Cooler, Kammock Roo Double Hammock, Yeti Rambler 14 oz coffee mug, and limited edition RVi bandana!

RVi Announces 2019 Auctus Innovation Competition Winner

Rounding out its third year, our annual Auctus Innovation Competition challenges RVi employees to come up with an innovative idea that can be meaningfully advanced in a year’s time. With a lot of great entries to choose from, this year’s winner truly honed in our purpose statement: to inspire people to be outside and engage in the community around them.
