Score Sheets from Jumping Competitions

With the competition season well under way, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our jump judges that it is extremely important that all score sheets are sent to the EQ office.

The judge is responsible for the correct completion of the competition score sheets. Prizes should be awarded according to the results.

As soon as possible after the event the scoresheets (accompanied by a copy of the event schedule), MUST be sent to the EQ office to be added to the national database. We require score sheets from ALL classes to be sent in, not just those for 1.05m and above, and they should include the results for ALL competitors in the class. It is the Judges responsibility to ensure this is done. This enables results to be uploaded to the national database, ensuring FAIR-PLAY in the sport through checking eligibility of horses & riders to compete and receive prize money.

Equestrian Queensland has a number of grants available for Coaches, Officials and clubs.

Program 1 - Aims to assist in club growth and rider/official development through clinics and workshops (open to Sport Committees and clubs for dressage, jumping and eventing). Program 1 is now closed fro Round 1, but will reopen in June for any clinics being held in the second half of the year.

Program 2 - Is aimed at currently accredited Coaches and Officials in Queensland. The aim is to increase the standard of excellence in this area by providing funds directly to the individual coach/official to assist with travel expenses associated with attending EA/FEI nationally and internationally recognised Coach/Official upgrade or refresher courses within the sport.

To be eligible for funding under program 2 all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current member of Equestrian Queensland
  • Hold a current EA Coaching or Officiating accreditation
  • Applicants must be attending an endorsed EA/FEI course specific to Officiating or Coaching upgrades/refreshers

Warning Regarding Detection of Banned Substance Synephrine in Teff Grass Hay, Common Rush and Supplements

Equestrian Australia wishes to warn its members about the prohibited substance synephrine which is currently listed by the FEI on the FEI Prohibited Substances List as a Banned Substance. Banned substances are substances that are deemed by the FEI to have no legitimate use in the competition horse and/or have a high potential for abuse. EA launches an Anti-Doping Awareness Campaign

As a reminder, as of 31 March, 2018, all EA coaches must have completed a minimum of the free ASADA online Level 1 anti-doping course.

This will become a compulsory requirement moving forward for updating and renewing your coaching registration in 2018 and you will need to show proof of your completion certificate as part of this process.

This initiative is aimed at helping to ensure that our community present themselves and their horses at all events drug-free and uphold the values of clean sport at all times.

Please ensure you keep a copy of your certificate in an accessible place in readiness to upload to the MyEA portal during Coach Registration Renewals in June/July.
