4,210 students are missing vaccinations or a valid exemption (2,499 of these students are 7 to 17 years of age and will face suspension if they do not meet requirements).

Key Deadlines

  • March 12 to 20 – March Break Vaccination Clinics
    • Clinics available by appointment (limited) and walk-in (first come, first served)
    • Clinics are open to any student who received a suspension order; students do not need to attend the school where the clinic is located
  • March 23 – Final Deadline for students and their families to report before the suspension period begins
  • March 24 to April 22 – Suspension Period

Health Care Provider Action

  • If you cannot immunize your patients facing suspension before March 23, please:
    • Book them into the earliest appointment you have available
    • Instruct these families to call Public Health at 905-688-8248 or 1-888-505-6074 ext. 7425 with their appointment details
  • Although students 4 to 6 years of age will not face suspension this year, it is just as important for them to stay up to date with their immunizations
  • Use The Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA): Guide for Health Care Providers as a quick reference
    • Copies were included with recent vaccine deliveries
    • Additional copies can be ordered under the Vaccines and Immunizations drop down
  • Remind families that they are responsible for reporting vaccines to Public Health

Office Staff Action

  • Order vaccine 5 business days / one calendar week in advance of your delivery day, based on the new vaccine delivery schedule
  • To order ISPA required vaccines use Physicians and Primary Care; order Men-C-ACYW-135 vaccine from School Program Vaccine Order Form
