Membership renewal for the 2019/2020 financial year is now open. Thank you for your ongoing support of Equestrian Victoria (EV). Your membership supports the continued improvement of the equestrian sport within Victoria and the services we offer to our members and sport disciplines.
This year the Equestrian Victoria Awards will be held at Level 17, RACV Club 501 Bourke Street Melbourne on Saturday 20 July. In 2018 over 250 guests celebrated the year that was for Equestrian sport in Victoria. Join EV for what promises to be a sensational night with great views, wine and celebration.
CELEBRATION ON TOP AT THE FURPHY MEDIA MI3DE

Two young guns and two masters of the sport rose to the occasion at this year's Furphy Media Melbourne International 3 Day Event (MI3DE). New naming rights sponsor Furphy Media added their special touch to every aspect of the event and we look forward to working with them on next year’s event. Werribee Park never looked better than over the Queen's Birthday public holiday, with Furphy Media flags flying in the breeze, the sun shining and the crowds streaming through the gates to witness a long weekend of equestrian action ...
STATE SQUAD APPLICATION FORMIf you are an EA member and want to become part of the Victorian Eventing Squad whether it is the Senior, Young Rider or Development squad, then we have a spot for you. There is an annual $50 registration fee which all squad members are required to pay. Applications close Friday 12 July.
JULY DEVELOPMENT SQUAD | 13 & 14 JULYOur weekend at Werribee will consist of lessons in dressage, cross country and Showjumping. Coaches
confirmed so far are Will Enzinger, Emily Anker and Nina Clarke - other coaches TBA. Entries close Friday 5 July.
YOUNG RIDER & SENIOR SQUAD | 20 & 21 JULY Our weekend at Werribee will consist of lessons in dressage, cross country and Showjumping. Coaches are still to be confirmed. We will not be able to accommodate horses for Showjumping that are not capable of jumping 95cm. Entries close Friday 12 July.
BACK PROTECTOR UPDATE: GRACE PERIODSafety of our EA member riders is paramount and recent rule changes to support this are in line with international best practice, in particular, British Eventing and (shortly to be introduced) Equestrian Sport New Zealand. A grace period of six months for back protectors will mean that the rule will become effective Jan 1 2020.
ELECTRONIC OPTION FOR RIDER REP REPORTSTo make reporting easier for rider reps an electronic riders rep option is now available in all states, using a common reporting format. The latest form can be completed on a rider's smartphone or tablet and once submitted, emailed automatically to the relevant state eventing co-ordinator, for discussion with the state eventing committee and relevant organising committee (OC).

SHOW HORSE WINTER CLINICS NO 1Show Horse Victoria has their first winter clinic on Saturday July 15th. Equestrian Victoria members were able to participate free of charge and the clinic filled fast with Francesca Christie and Jordan Smith having very busy days. It was great to see our young riders learning from the professionals. Our thanks also to Helen Heagney for coming
down to watch our riders at work. The next clinic will be July 21 with forms available shortly on the Show Horse pages of our website.

HIGH PERFORMANCE SQUAD REPORT It has been a busy year for the Squad. We have recently completed the last two clinics of the year. As the Squad 2018/19 year comes to an end we review the activities conducted over the last 12 months.
Applications are now invited for the PRYDE'S EASIFEED VICTORIAN HIGH PERFORMANCE DRESSAGE SQUAD for the period July 1 2019, to June 30 2020.
PRYDE'S EASIFEED RESERVE SQUAD - DRESSAGE
The Pryde’s EasiFeed High Performance Squad committee have decided to re-introduce a Reserve Squad for the coming year July 2019 – June 2020.

JUMPING VICTORIA JUNIOR AND YOUNG RIDER JUMPING SQUAD PROGRAM WELCOMES NEW SPONSORS
We officially welcome our new sponsor Strathmerton Drilling with their generous sponsorship support of our Junior and Young Rider Jumping squad program 2019-20 season. The sponsorship by Strathmerton Drilling enables Jumping Victoria to facilitate an integral part of the sport by providing training and support to junior and young riders in high performance and development levels through the Jumping Squad program. In addition to sponsorship support, Strathmerton Drilling have donated two new jumps to the Jumping Victoria Squad through their business Strathmerton Engineering.
Apart from squad training weekends, the Squad program will conduct a Show on 6 October for Junior and Young Riders. The show will also host the Trans-Tasman Challenge teams event between our State Squad and New Zealand Junior and Young Riders Teams.
