Winter energy tipsWith the colder weather here (on most days...), many of us are using more electricity and gas to heat and light our homes. Here are some winter tips that will help your household reduce its energy usage and keep your bills down. 1. Find and seal leaks. Cold air can leak into the home through minor cracks and gaps in windows and doorways. 2. Replace old air filters. Dirty or clogged air filters force your heating system to work harder for proper airflow, using extra energy and raising costs. 3. Check that you are on the best rate plan. Take advantage of this time at home to log in to your PG&E account and use the rate comparison tool. Being on the right rate plan may help to reduce your monthly bills. SCP in the newsLocal stories
