Kia Ora ,

In November 2022, we whooped and cheered for business at the 2degrees Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards. The awards were a real highlight of the year for a superb group of businesses.

Entering your business for awards might, on the face of it, seem like something that you might not have time to do. But for a small investment in time, there are so many benefits.

✅ Completing the entry gives you a chance to reflect on your work, your team, and your business. It's a chance to be very proud of what you achieve every day.
✅ Entering Awards is a chance to talk to your team about your work and the success they help you achieve.
✅ Being nominated as a finalist in Awards is a chance to celebrate your success and use it as a chance to market your business. Marketing your business is more important than ever in these challenging times.
✅ Attending the Awards function is a chance to celebrate with your team or to invite your customers and thank them for their contribution to your success.
✅ Winning Awards is a chance to be recognised for the success you, your team and your customers have created.

There are so many benefits.

So here is your chance in 2023.  The 2degrees Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards is coming; entries are now open.

The awards are an opportunity for businesses across the Wellington region to celebrate their efforts, drive and determination, and contribution to our communities.

Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi – Registration of Interest

Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi is a significant, multi-year alliance between Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Hutt City Council, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, AECOM and Fletcher Construction. The purpose of the project is to transform Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai - Lower Hutt by providing better flood protection, enabling urban growth and improving transport safety and connections in the central city and around the Melling Interchange.

While the Alliance has the means to deliver key portions of the work, one of our key objectives is to develop a Healthy and Sustainable Supplier Market. To achieve this, the Alliance would like to invite subcontractors, subconsultants and suppliers interested in participating in the project to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) to join the projects Registered Supplier Pool.

The Registration of Interest (ROI) period is open for two weeks from 28th July 2023 until 11th August 2023.

The Market Briefing Slide from 27th July 23 meeting can be found in the link below.

Please access the ROI via this link: https://forms.office.com/r/UGMb8pwvJP

For any queries, please email procurement@teawakairangi.co.nz

Hutt City Council's Draft Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy for your feedback

We are delighted to be able to share Hutt City Council’s Rautaki Kanorau Koiora Taketake / Draft Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy for your feedback.

We encourage you to let them know whether this draft strategy meets your aspirations for protecting and restoring indigenous biodiversity in our city.

The strategy and link to give feedback is at hutt.city/biodiversity until 20 August and we are keen to hear from as many groups and individuals as possible.

The finalised Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy provides guidance for Hutt City Council, Mana Whenua, community groups and the wider community to protect and restore our indigenous biodiversity. The strategy sets a shared vision and goals to guide us and identifies focus areas where we can work together to make a difference.

From Construction to Operation – Nice work lane Street Studios

Together with Te Rūnanganui o Te Āti Awa, Lane Street Studios held a dawn blessing on site last week to recognise the very special occasion that marked their transition from construction to operation.

Whilst the weather did not play ball, a large group braced the rain and joined the blessing in the early hours of the morning.

A number of people in attendance played a special role, including the New Zealand Film Commission, WellingtonNZ Screen Wellington, Upper Hutt City Council, the Evans Family, and Te Āti Awa.

Lane Street Studios and their team, led by Kristy Grant, the CEO, were very appreciative of the support for this important event and for the support in the journey to reach this exciting point.
