Deadline 30 April: Apply for the Bikeability Restart Grant
|
|
Last month, we announced that the Bikeability Trust had secured approval for a Bikeability Restart Grant, in order to further support the industry. Claims must be submitted to our Grants team by Friday 30 April. The Bikeability Restart Grant will offer independent training providers who have made a financial loss in 2020/21:
-
Up to £20,000 to contribute to premises costs for the period of March - June 2020 and January - March 2021, when national lockdown impacted training providers
-
Up to £10,000 to contribute to core staff administration costs who were not eligible for furlough schemes, as they were required to provide support for instructors and deal with school bookings
The grant has been designed to support independent training providers, who have previously been unable to secure financial support throughout 2020/21, through Government forms of support or other schemes. These are outlined in our Coronavirus FAQs. The threshold for evidence has been set by central government, as all claims may be audited by the fraud office.
In order to claim, you must
-
Read the full Bikeability Restart Grant Guidance to ensure you are eligable for the grant
-
Confirm and communicate with a lead grant recipient to agree a payment process of the grant, if successful
-
Complete the following Bikeability Restart Grant Form. If you are unable to access Office365, then you may download the form here. However, we would urge you to complete the online form if possible, in order to minimise the workflow for our Grants team.
-
Submit key evidence directly to grants@bikeability.org.uk
-
Save a copy of your form submission and evidence, for your records

Due to technical issues, the new Bikeability Shop was unable to launch earlier this month. As a result, the Shop will now launch on Tuesday 4 May. We are now using WooCommerce, which is easy to use and accepts both card payments and BACS.
As part of our new system, there will be some changes to shipping costs which are now a fair reflection of the true cost of postage. Previously, all orders charged just £3.30 postage but the true cost could be anything up to £128. This cost was absorbed by the Trust, but this negatively impacts our Innovation Fund. Therefore, we have devised new rates for our shipping, which will increase accordingly with the weight of your order. We have chosen to cap postage at £71.25 and we will continue to absorb any additional costs.
All income from sales of awards materials are invested into the Trust’s Innovation Fund, which is ringfenced for projects such as the recent SEND Innovation Fund Pilot Project. This allows us to reach more children beyond our core grant from the Department of Transport.
If you urgently need to order awards materials, please contact the Shop team by emailing orders@bikeabilitytrust.org
