New McClymonts bus ramp

After some challenging winter conditions, the construction team opened the McClymonts Road southbound bus ramp earlier this month.  The relocation of the bus ramp is necessary for construction of the new McClymonts Road bridge to take place. The new bridge will be wider and raised higher than the current one to allow for additional traffic lanes on SH1, the extended Northern Busway, and the shared path. Once the new bridge is fully functioning, the current bridge will be demolished.

Work to begin at Rosedale Road

Work to replace the SH1 Rosedale Road motorway bridge and lower the road underneath is about to begin. This will allow additional head room for trucks and buses, and will make room for additional lanes on SH1, the Northern Busway and shared path. We will begin by relocating power and water on Rosedale Road which will take several months to complete. The road will be lowered towards the end of the year.

Widening of Constellation Bridge

Extra lanes will be added to State Highway 1 as part of the project. To accommodate the additional lanes, the existing SH1/Constellation Drive bridge needs to be widened.

Construction has commenced on the northbound side and will continue through to December 2018. Work will need to be done at night and day to minimise disruption to motorists during peak hours.

When will this work be done?
Sunday 29 July to Monday 30 July between 9pm and 5am. Some lane restrictions will be in place under the bridge.

From Monday 30 July, construction will take place during the day. The daytime hours of work are typically Monday to Friday 7am to 6.30pm and Saturdays if required. There will be no lane changes during the day as our construction team will work behind barriers beside the motorway.

North Harbour BMX facility

At Hooton Reserve, the new facility for North Harbour BMX is quickly taking shape and is on track to open in October.

The majority of the stormwater and subsoil drainage has been completed and services has started to go in.

Drawings for the 8m ramp and 5m ramp roof are being drafted and foundation works for the structures will begin in the next four weeks.
