Get to know Lydia Sooter, the newest member of our team!

 

What excites you about being in the event industry and how long have you been in it, include a bit of your history, career path and evolution.

LS: I have always loved the relational aspect of this industry. It is what attracted me to the hospitality industry in college.

 

 

I have been in the industry since college with event internships at Alys Beach, Pat Dye’s Hunting Preserve and Event Space, and Invision Events. After college I worked for Buckhead Life Restaurant Group as an Event Coordinator. I initially moved over to one of their vendors, Peachtree Tents and Events, and quickly realized how much I enjoyed working with Lois and Carlos at Collection!

Collection embraces a work style: Being kind and respectful. Unwavering attention to detail. Encouraging life balance. Creating great experiences! Which of these is the one you most identify with and why?

LS: I identify most with creating great experiences. No event is ever the same, and I love the challenge of that. My goal is to help create a type of experience that stays with the client. From the first point of contact to following up with them to see how the event went, I want our clients to see the reason I love what I do!

What’s your favorite part about your job and working for Collection? 

LS: I really enjoy meeting clients to face to face. We encourage our clients to come in and see our "collection" so that we can help them design what they are envisioning and make it become a reality for their events. We always hope to help clients add their personal touch and style to their events!

What do you think is the most important ingredient for creating a great event?!

LS: I would say making sure that your personality is reflected through the event.

 
 

 

One of my favorite parts of my career is working with so many wonderful clients, planners and event producers. Every day I am fortunate enough to bring a wealth of experience, my love of design and creativity to each project. It's definitely one of the best parts of my day!
