ILLiad Check-up Challenge: Time to Collect your Video Training Library Free Trial

Did you participate in the November ILLiad Check-up Challenge? If you did, you know John Brunswick and his colleagues provided valuable tips every weekday throughout the month on the Atlas Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/atlassystems and through our Twitter feed @atlassystems. The good news is—all those tips are still there. If you don’t already follow us on Facebook and Twitter, now’s a great time to start.

Now that November is over, please email us at training@atlas-sys.com to tell us what you did to complete the challenge and you’ll receive a 30-day free trial of the Video Training Library.

ALA Midwinter Plans: The Support Team is IN

And speaking of challenges….One we face at ALA conferences is finding enough quality time to spend with our customers. So for ALA Midwinter in Atlanta we’re trying something different.

Instead of a booth, we’re “setting up shop” on Saturday and Sunday at the Legal Sea Foods Atlanta, near the Convention Center. Staff will rotate in and out as they attend other meetings and conference sessions, but someone will be there 12:30PM-3:30PM each day.

If there’s a specific person you want to talk to and a specific time you have available, email us at service@atlas-sys.com to tell us whom you want to meet with and when so we can reserve your spot. Otherwise, drop in for a bite to eat and friendly conversation.

DATES:
Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22

TIME:
12:30PM-3:30PM

PLACE:
Legal Sea Foods Atlanta
275 Baker St. NW
Atlanta, GA

ALA Midwinter Plans: Food and Fun

We’re happy to report we’re bringing back an evening social event in Atlanta. Mark your calendar now and plan to join Atlas staff and your ILLiad, Ares, and Aeon colleagues for good food and engaging conversation.

DATE:
Saturday, January 21

TIME:
Drinks and nibble food starting at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm—come for the parts of the evening that fit your schedule.

PLACE:
Max Lager’s Wood Fire Grill & Brewery
320 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
http://maxlagers.com/

Please RSVP for dinner to Tina Schaarschmidt.

And, there’s more fun, because ALA shouldn’t be all business. We’re planning an Atlas Challenge game (with a special prize), a tour of a place we’re keeping secret for now, and a gift for following us and meeting up with us in all kinds of places, and more. You won’t want to miss any of it, so to keep track of us (since we won’t have booth), be sure to “like” us on Facebook and follow our hashtags #WheresAtlas #alamw17.

Reports from the Field

Have you checked out the newest feature on the Atlas website? It’s called Reports from the Field. So far we have two stories posted with plans to add new stories at least once a month. The latest story (and photos) are from Genie Powell’s trip to Harvard’s Houghton Library. Genie got to visit the Emily Dickinson room—and she learned a new word. You’ll have to read her story to see what it is!

Do you have a story you’d like us to tell about your institution or collection? Drop us an email at stories@atlas-sys.com – we’d love to come visit you to learn more!

New in the Video Training Library

The Ares Virtual Conference was held November 9th and 10th. The conference featured presentations by Ares users as well as Atlas staff. If you missed the conference—or you want to learn more about Ares—all the presentations are available in the Video Training Library.

You do not need to have a subscription to the Video Training Library in order to view these presentations. Conference presentations are available at: https://training.atlas-sys.com/Course/Details/4225.
