Reykjavik Dance Festival and LÓKAL have announced their dates for this year´s festivals. RDF is scheduled to take place between August 23rd and Septemer 1st. 2013, and LÓKAL dates are 28th of August to September 1st.  Artistic director of Reykjavik Dance Festival this year is choreographer, dancer and producer Erna Ómarsdóttir and her umbrella production company Shalala. As before LÓKAL is directed by Ragnheiður Skúladóttir and Bjarni Jónsson.

The Nordic Drama Train stopped at Husets Teater in Copenhagen February 22nd – 24th. The 5 works of the 5 award-winning playwrights selected for the Train this season wera stage -read within a festival setting. Initiated by Performing Arts Iceland, during the Nordic Performing Arts Days in August last year, the train is organized jointly by the members of the Nordic Theatre... more on our website...

Ragnar Bragasson, director, producer and playwright sat down with PAI Enquire to talk about his theatrical debut Laburnum. Laburnum was premiered last November and has been performed at the Reykjavik City Theatre ever since. Laburnum has been praised both by critics and by audience for its realistic display of the Icelandic family and community. Ragnar Bragasson has made a prominent career within film and television. What makes such a well established director and producer of film want to take on the Theatre?

Icelandic performances on tour

The Icelandic Dance Company performed three Nordic dance pieces at the Nordic Cool 2013 festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington late February.  Here is a review from the Washington Post about the performance...
