This combined performance and reading considers the lives of women who lived through slavery in the U.S. Millicent Sparks, an actor, writer, producer and Germantown resident, will present her "Harriet Tubman Living History Experience," which celebrates the life of the 19th century heroine of the Underground Railroad. Following Sparks' presentation, Gwen Ragsdale will read a selection from her 2014 book "Peculiar Relationships: A Fictional Novel That Describes the Evolving Relationships Between Black Women and White Women from Slavery to Current Day."
