Welcome to the Barnet Together newsletter featuring news, grants, training opportunities... It was around this time last year that I was jumping around my room in delight having been offered a 6-month contract by Inclusion Barnet to provide fundraising and organisational support to Barnet's VCS. Now, a year on, I'm still here! I've so enjoyed getting to know and work with the 100s of organisations in Barnet providing such varied and vital support and services. And I'm always keen to work with more, so if we've not 'met' yet do get in touch and if we have, let's catch up again soon... Trust for London - Local Action Poverty Fund Crowdfunding opportunity: Up to £10,000 match funding available for communities tackling poverty and inequality in outer London. Must have income under £100k. To: Provide practical solutions to support people on low incomes, address local problems in creative ways and are led by the communities that will benefit from the work. No deadline. Apply Now. Magic Little Grants The application process is short and simple, taking 10 minutes to complete. Deadline: Sunday 31 October Henry Smith, Strengthening Communities Through this grant programme, Henry Smith want to fund grass roots, community-led organisations located in and working in the most deprived areas in the UK. So, for this grant programme they'll only fund organisations supporting communities in the most deprived areas which are physically located within, or immediately next to the most deprived areas. For this, they are using the Government Indices of Multiple Deprivation to establish eligibility, so before you apply, you must use this link to check whether you are in an area of deprivation. Funding between £20,000 and £60,000 available, which can support work for one to three years. One-off grants of up to £5,000 for charities working on projects that address issues of homelessness, employability, education, health and wellbeing by tackling a specific community issue. Next deadline: Sunday 31 October Ecclesiastical's 2021 Movement for Good awards Ecclesiastical have launched the phase 2 funding round with grants of £10,000, £50,000 and £100,000 to be awarded to 30 charities. These larger grants to go to charities supporting some very specific themes, which are:

Funding, Training & Developmental Support Award The GSK IMPACT Awards provide funding, training and development for charities doing excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from £4,000 to £50,000. In addition, the training and development is valued at a further £9,500. Organisations will also have a film made, receive help with press and publicity, and be given a set of promotional materials. Deadline: 5pm, Monday 20 September UK charities, with an annual income of at least £1m, are invited to apply to receive a donation of £100,000 to meet the needs of our communities as they emerge from the pandemic, including:

Opportunity for Disabled Adults to receive free training & support to become Community Reporters Community Reporting is a way for people to tell their own stories, their own way. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, budding artist or only have time to send the occasional text or voice message, we want to hear from you. Inclusion Barnet are recruiting a team of disabled volunteers aged 18+, who live or work in Barnet and are interested in receiving training to enable them to tell the stories of their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, we’ll have open reporting channels to allow us to hear from people on a more informal basis. For 28 years Langdon Charity has been helping young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism. Now's your chance to work for them. Social Care and Employment Programme Manager Community Activity Co-ordinator Council is consulting on the Barnet Local Plan The Local Plan sets out a vision for how Barnet will change as a place over the next 15 years and forms a strategy which emphasises the borough’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit. The emerging plan will replace the existing 2012 Local Plan and will provide the main basis upon which future planning applications will be determined. By signing up to the Manifesto, groups and service providers agree to adhere to the values within the document.
