Team-based care supports for family practice featured in BC Medical JournalThe GPSC is working with its partners—including family doctors, local divisions, and health authorities—to transform primary care in BC by creating patient medical homes and primary care networks. The GPSC supports family doctors to work in teams in their practices through incentive fees, education and training, and the GPSC Team-Based Care Reference Guide. Team-based care offers many benefits for family doctors throughout BC. Having access to other health care providers to help with patient care can free up doctors to the work they love to do, including to focus on medical diagnoses and patient relationships, while ensuring patients get timely access to continuous, coordinated primary care.
