Dear Resident or Family Member,

RE: Updated Visitor Restrictions - Calvary Haydon Retirement Community

Calvary apologises for the frequency of communication however the situation and advice is changing rapidly. Effective last night, ACT Health has updated the advice for residential aged care sites. New exposure sites have been identified in NSW, Northern Territory, Western Australia, QLD and Victoria.

What is the new advice?

  •  All staff and visitors within the facility must wear a surgical mask. Masks will be supplied for visitors if required.
  • Anyone who has been to the Northern Territory LGAs  -City of Darwin, City of Palmerston and Litchfield should not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after leaving the affected area.
  • Anyone who has been to the Shellharbour LGA should not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after leaving the affected area.
  •  Anyone who has been to a close or casual contact exposure location (or equivalent) in Western Australia or Northern Territory should not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after being in this location. 
  • Exceptions may apply for visitors of residents at end of life, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a care and support role is provided by a visitor. Please speak with the manager of your home to discuss arrangements.

From previous communication- Ongoing restrictions:

  • Anyone who has been to a close or casual contact exposure location (or equivalent) in NSW, ACT, Victoria or QLD should not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after being in this location. 
  • Anyone who has been to Greater Sydney LGAs including Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong must not visit Calvary Haydon for 14 days after leaving the affected area.
  • Exceptions may apply for visitors of residents at end of life, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a care and support role is provided by a visitor. Please speak with the manager of your home to discuss arrangements.
  • Visitors who are under a stay at home requirements must not attend unless it is for an approved essential purpose (please speak with the manager)
  • Resident outings will be permitted, subject to Facility Manager approval. Due to the heightened risk, resident attendance at a function where there is any person who has visited any of the above areas of heightened risk will not be allowed. 
  • All other restrictions on visitation will remain in place. 

We appreciate your understanding that these restrictions are in place for the protection of residents, their loved ones, our staff and the broader community. If you are unable to visit at this time, we encourage you to contact the facility to arrange a WebEx video call with your loved one.
